The draft Victory Park Precinct Master Plan has been developed to provide future direction for development of the precinct which is inclusive of Eric Taylor Reserve, Doorty Park, Newman Park, Victory Park and Bert Thompson Reserve

Some key improvements identified in the draft Plan include:

  • Improvements to pedestrian experience on walking tracks, through simple realignments and landscaping, improving the safety for users.
  • Significant improvements to the Newman Park play space, re-designing the space to improve visitor experience to a regional standard.
  • Revitalising the dog park site to a gathering space with shade, seating and other supporting infrastructure.
  • Ecological restoration of the Traralgon Creek.
  • Relocation of toilet blocks for improved accessibility and safety in accordance with the Latrobe City Council Public Toilet Plan
  • The total cost of projects within the draft Plan is significant and therefore may need to be delivered in stages and over several years, and supported by seeking external funding opportunities.
