Background
Traralgon, the largest city in Gippsland, functions primarily as an industrial, economic,commercial and retail hub. In more recent years, Traralgon has also become a tourism gateway and cultural destination.
To allow for future growth while strategically maximising on what already exists, Latrobe City Council has identifiedthe need for a Master Plan at Kay Street, Traralgon (The Site).
The Site currently accommodates several different services (Anchor Tenants), that are key contributors to its current success, such as the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre (GPAC) Traralgon Library, and Council services, including Traralgon Maternal and Child Health Centre.
Project purpose
The successful Master Plan will establish the key design principles for a long-term transformation of The Site and assist in seeking further funding required for project delivery.It is expected that new facilities will be identified for The Site, to meet the growing requirements and ambitions of the community.
The Master Plan will focus onidentifying environmentally sustainable infrastructure design, improving health services and access, and increasing connectivity and social wellbeing.
The desired outcome of this project is to present a document that showcases the community's vision and aspirations. After the Master Plan is finalised, further work such as feasibility studies and funding research will be required, to deliver on the identified elements.
Why we want to hear from you
Council has launched a survey to empower Latrobe City residents to actively participate and share feedback on the development of the Master Plan. The community’s collective input willcontributeto shaping the futureof a locally prominent location.
The wider community consultation includes a drop-in session at theTraralgonFarmers Market on Saturday 24August 2024.
To make a submission, please complete the survey below or pick up and return hard copies at Latrobe City Council service centres and libraries, by Monday 9 September 2024.

Finalise the Master Plan and Implementation Plan, with consideration of community feedback from consultation.
