Latrobe City Council is required to maintain an Election Period Policy (the Policy) under the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act), to manage how Council business is conducted while an election is in progress.

An election period is an important time for both Council and the community. The Policy helps guide how Council communicates with the community, makes decisions, and uses Council resources during this time.

Under the Act, the Election Period Policy must be reviewed once each Council term. This helps to make sure it remains up to date and reflects any changes in legislation or best practice. As part of the review, Latrobe City community members are entitled to provide their feedback on the draft Policy and are able to do so below. Your feedback will help us make sure the Policy is clear, practical and reflects community expectations.
