The Community Engagement Groups provide a structured forum for community voices to be heard and considered in Latrobe City Council’s work.
The Groups support a strong connection between the community and Council by drawing on members lived experience and understanding of the local community. Members contribute insights to inform the development of Council plans, actions, and future focus areas, with consideration of long-term outcomes and strategic priorities.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for 30 community members with lived experience of the needs and issues of our diverse community.
Members can include anyone with strong community networks who have an interest in disability, positive ageing or cultural diversity. Each group will include up to 10 members representing the Positive Ageing, Disability Access and Inclusion, and Cultural Diversity Community Engagement Groups.
The appointment of members is for twelve-months. Four meetings will be scheduled per year, with further meetings and engagement opportunities to occur in consultation with the Group. Members must undertake a satisfactory National Police check and Working with Children Check which will be arranged and paid for by Latrobe City Council.
The Community Engagement Groups are advisory in nature and do not have any delegated decision-making or financial authority.
Council does not offer any remuneration for participation.
Expressions of Interest close 5pm, Monday 23 March 2026.
