Buildings owned or managed by Latrobe City Council are maintained through regular inspections and maintenance to ensure they remain sage and comfortable for community use, while complying with building regulations.

Capital Works are projects undertaken to either renew, upgrade or construct assets owned by Latrobe City Council, including:

Council is responsible for keeping the community safe in many ways, from local laws to environmental health, preparing for a response to natural disasters like floods or fire and subsequent recovery activities and ensuing compliance with building standards.

These fields encompass animal management services such as pet registration and animal adoptions, food premise inspections, school crossing supervision, road safety education wastewater management and undertaking building compliance inspections, audits and education.

Culture, leisure and recreation services include:

Council cares for the environment in many ways, from managing bush land reserves and reviewing forestry coup compliance, to environmental education and providing Trust for Nature property rebates.

Council offers biodiversity protection incentive program grants, organisation of  community tree planting, and management of approximately 400km of roadside noxious weeds

Latrobe City Council offers a variety of services for families in the municipality including:

The Latrobe City Council's Maternal and Child Health Service (MCH) provides information, advice and support to parents of children aged 0 to 6 years. The service is provided by nurses, who in addition to being registered in general nursing and midwifery, have undertaken further training in family and child health.

Libraries are more than books – they’re inclusive, safe places where people can access many resources such as magazines, computers, digital resources and research materials.

Latrobe City Libraries provide education and social programs for all ages, host author talks and workshops, offer community meetings rooms, learning spaces and public computers.

Outdoor spaces are adored by people in Latrobe City and that’s why Council staff maintain many facilities for the enjoyment of residents and visitors.

This includes 626 hectares of open space parks, 14 hectares of garden beds and 15.6 hectares of wetlands and rain gardens.
